After 9 days of no restriction on roads, Covid-19 deaths and cases are on the rise again after the Eid-ul-Azha, with the country tallying 228 more fatalities and 11,291 new cases on Sunday. The current infection rate is 30.04 % , recovery rate is 85.77% and the mortality rate is 1.65 %.
The latest numbers increased country’s death toll to 19,274, total caseload to 1,164,635 and the total number of recoveries to 998,923.
The capital of the country is witnessing the worst outbreaks with the highest number of deaths ,69, among other divisions today, followed by Khulna at 50.The number of fatalities in Chittagong, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Barisal is at 40, 21, 16, 15, 11 and 6 respectively.
Registered infected cases are also highest in Dhaka , 4755, followed by Chittagong with 1,667 and Khulna with 1,278.
The fast-spreading coronavirus has claimed more than 4.17 million lives and infected over 194.5 million people across the world till Sunday afternoon, according to Worldometer.
