Police on Friday arrested a madrasa teacher in connection with raping a 10-year-old student from Hilful Fuzul Madrasa in the Bishapara area of Hili Hakimpur upazila.
Hakimpur police station Officer-in-Charge Ferdous Wahid confirmed the matter.
Rustam Ali, the victim’s father, filed a written complaint at the local police station about this incident. The arrestee, Mominul Islam Sujon, 27, confessed his crime.
In Rustom Ali’s statement, he mentioned that there were multiple incidents of rape committed by the teacher through bullying and intimidation. The teacher also threatened to kill the child if he tried to confess his crimes to anyone. On Monday, August 16, the victim was raped again.
On Friday, the child went home and confessed to his mother, who later reported it to the police.
