Saudia Arab is ready to celebrate Eid on July 20.
A meeting of the Moon Sighting Committee at 7:15pm on Sunday held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque will fix the date of Eid-ul-Azha . State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan will also be present at the meeting.
People are requested to inform the committee over the following telephone number if they spot the Zilhajj moon anywhere in the Bangladesh sky. The telephone numbers are – 9559493, 9555947, 9556407 and 9558337.
The sighting of the crescent moon will determine the days of Hajj and also the day of Eid, which is celebrated on the 10th of the last month of the Islamic calendar, Zilhajj.
Similar to last year, no bangladeshi pilgrims will be allowed to join Hajj as Saudi government has banned entry of foreign pilgrims due to the current covid situation.
Bangladesh is usually seen to celebrate both the Eids a day after they are celebrated in Saudi Arabia.
