Since the number of positive cases of COVID-19 is rising everyday in Bangladesh and many other countries and it is presumed that the new Omicron variant may cause a major spike in coronavirus spread in March-April, a kind of panic is seizing everyone. When the students all over the country will get back their normal education-life is yet a major qustion hang in the air.
Yesterday on 3rd January, after finishing a program at International Mother Language Institute Dhaka, education minister Dr. Dipu Moni said, “We are observing the covid-situation all the time. If we think that we need to lessen the number of classes, we will do that for our students’ safety and if we think that we need to close the educational institutions, we’ll do that. We will do everything we feel necessary.”
The minister remarked about the full swing classes, “We can’t say whether we will be able to open classes in full swing till March. The amount of classes may increase more than that of the previous year. Students used to come to school one day in a week before, now they will come to school more than one day in a week. But we can’t initiate the classes in full force now. We have a compulsion to obey the rules of health.”
She said, “I don’t know if we will be able to thoroughly cover the education lack of last two years. We will continue our endeavour. But that will depend on the situation of corona.”
